\"8186811910_8a61335645\"<\/a>KIHNTAGIOUS<\/a>\u00a0was the great lost Greg Kihn Band album.\u00a0 First of all, let me say musically I thought it was one of our strongest.\u00a0 The songwriting was better, the grooves were deeper, and the lyrics were a cut above.\u00a0 The band worked hard on Kihntagious and we were excited when it came out.\u00a0 Now here\u2019s a little lesson in the music business that you probably didn\u2019t know.\u00a0 It\u2019s painful lesson but as the White House would say, \u201cIt\u2019s a teaching moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

It was during this period that Beserkley Reords was distributed by WEA (Warners\/Elektra\/Asylum.)\u00a0 We had signed a deal with Elektra but Warner Brothers and Asylum bought them out before the ink was dry.\u00a0\u00a0Jeopardy<\/i>\u00a0was a huge hit for them right out of the box so they were anxious to put out the next one. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the most commercial and rockin\u2019 songs we ever produced was\u00a0<\/span>Reunited<\/i>\u00a0<\/span>on\u00a0Kihntagious\u00a0<\/i>and deserved to be a major hit.\u00a0\u00a0Reunited<\/i>\u00a0was a red hot rocker with great words and a killer guitar riff.\u00a0 Everybody agreed it was a hit and we spent a fortune making the video for it (a take-off on the Wizard of Oz, complete with Munchkins.) \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But something happened that doomed\u00a0Reunited<\/i>\u00a0from the get-go.\u00a0 Somehow it had become known that EMI was interested in signing the GKB for big dough.\u00a0 When Elektra found out they dropped\u00a0Reunited<\/i>\u00a0like a hot potato.\u00a0 That was the end of all our WEA support.\u00a0 As a result, instead of being our next major hit follow-up to\u00a0Jeopardy<\/i>,\u00a0Reunited\u00a0<\/i>was relegated to the slag heap, video and all. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There are some great songs on this album that should have been hits.\u00a0 I always loved\u00a0Rock<\/i>\u00a0and\u00a0Make-up<\/i>.\u00a0\u00a0Stand together<\/i>\u00a0was great live.\u00a0\u00a0Confrontation Music<\/i>\u00a0was one of my favorites too.\u00a0 All these songs were lost when Elektra found out we were leaving to sign with EMI.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

We still perform\u00a0Reunited<\/i>\u00a0live to this day but it never gets the attention it deserved back in the day.\u00a0 It still rocks the house though.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
