I’m just a mom who loves rock and roll and would so love to have the opportunity to win tickets to your Concert. It would truly be a dream come true and greatly appreciated!!

I took lessons from ry a few tears back and we had great talks about you.
I also have taken my family to many of your concerts. You and i were born
in 49 and it would be fantastic to finally meet you and also see ry again.

  15. Rewrite: I am a huge fan of yours and really enjoyed talking and laughing with you at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Thanks to the Roaring Camp train stopping you dead in your tracks and making you a tad late for your sound check I was once again able to share some very funny conversation with you. I’m thinking I was pretty lucky when it came to having the opportunity to speak with you. Greg I would climb to the highest point in the Santa Cruz mountains and shout at the top of my lungs,” Greggggg please pick me, I would love to laugh and speak with you again!!” Then as I wipe the sweat from my brow I would wonder could I be ever so lucky to win tickets and have the opportunity to speak and laugh with you again? To hear and feel your incredibly wonderful music coursing through my soul. Oh how I would appreciate having that opportunity once more. Please don’t let this be just a dream but a dream come true!

I’d like to go to a Kihncert someday. Of course, that’s probably all I’ve got to say.

  17. Grr8ful says:

Dear Greg, I have loved your music since I was a teenager growing up in Anaconda, MT. My very favorite song is “Remember”. I love your voice and the your fun style of showmanship. I just had my 47 birthday, and still love your music, thank-you for staying young, and still having fun with what you do, your music is for everyone, it is TIMELESS!
God bless you and yours, hope you keep us all tapping our toes for a long, long time to come.

Greg, I’m a huge fan of you and your music! I’ve been a roll lately trying to see as many classic rock bands from the 60′s and 70′s as I can this summer. I saw Blue Oyster Cult last week and Three Dog Night this week at the State Fair, heading to Tahoe shortly for Steve Miller and Dave Mason, and hoping to get to Kihncert next before I see Frampton and the Doobie Brothers at Thunder Valley Resort next weekend. Your lineup at Kihncert 2011 is awesome and I’d love to win tickets! Keep on rocking!

  19. Carol V says:

I have been a loyal Greg Kihn fan since the 80′s (what little I remember). I also went on a rather interesting rollercoaster ride with you in 1999. Since that time I have found you to be a terrific person, a great humanitarian and just an overall great guy. Because I Iisten to you everyday I feel I have come to know you from your regalia of life experiences. I’ve laughed with you. I’ve cried with you. I’ve read all of your books. I’ve walked through a small part of life with you. I look forward to listening to you every morning. The economy has hit my family pretty hard between illness and job loss and we haven’t been able to go to any concerts like we used to. I was so thrilled when I went to the Live, Work, Play broadcast here in Redwood City and they were giving away tickets to the Kihncert. I am so looking forward to it. It would be great to hang with you in your element. If it’s not meant to be, I want to wish you all the best and to keep Roc-kihn!!!.

Would love to sit and talk to you about growing up in Baltimore in the 50′s & 60′s. I grew up right on the edge of Medfield, Roland Park & Hampden (41st Street), my cousin lived on Melville Avenue, went to Western High School (class of ’70), how about them “O’s”, Colts (will never get over that), Fells Point, Memorial Stadium, Gino’s, Utz’s chips, Crabs, Ocean City, Buddy Dean, local Baltimore Bands and Rock. My Mom sang with Swing & Sway with Sammy Kaye & did the “Reach for the Moon, Reach for ContaLuna” commercial. My son is named Greg. Lots of talking points here. It would be a blast and so much fun for an oldie but a goodie like me.

I remember when I went to Disneyland for senior night, and YOU were supposed to play. I was SO disappointed when it was Berlin with some other band..(.but Berlin was good! Teri Nunn is really cool). Would RATHER have seen YOU GUYS!! So, I think I’ve waited long enough! Plus, my daughter lives in a house where I play the 80′s and all kinds of good stuff, and let’s face it: KIDS NEED TO SEE CONCERTS! Help us cultivate her love of music!! Have a groovy day!

  24. skydho says:

That would be SICK, spending the day with Gregg greeting people with a concert to follow, Good people + Good music = Good Times / Memories. After all Memories is the only thing we can really own, the rest is just borrowed for a while

I enjoy photographing The Greg Kihn Band at their live shows. The best GKB concerts I’ve been to has been at Santa Cruz Boardwalk, SJ Music In The Park and Kihncert. I’d love a copy of Greg Kihn’s new album “Kihnplete” i’m a big fan of Greg Kihn

Greg, you have provided the soundtrack to my life for the last 30 years . . . I became a fan of yours in 1979 and have followed your career ever since. It would be my dream come true to meet you! My favorite concert of yours I attended was when you and your band came to Emmigrant Lake just outside of Ashland, Oregon, in I think 1990? I had just moved here from the bay area and was terribly homesick; you provided a much needed trip back to the bay, if only in my own mind. So many great memories . . . it would be awesome to meet you in person.

Greg, I grew up in Baltimore in Uplands and went to #91 JHS and then to Poly.
I am a big fan of yours and saw you last year at the BR Cohn wine festival and already
have tickets to this year to see you on Saturday. Get together we could talk about
Baltimore days. Teen center with bands like the Van Dykes, El Corrals Tommy Van
and the Echos and of course going to the Ocean.

  33. Herb says:

How else can I start my Greg Kihn tribute band without hanging with you first?!

  34. queencharlotte says:

    Hey Greg,
One of the BEST concerts I ever attended (of yours) was the one on Halloween 198? (need we go ‘there’ by actually stating which year?) at UCLA. My friends and I got there early, and were in the building, on an upper floor looking down at you and the guys during your sound check. So cool! Hours later we were at the front of the stage when you made a reference to the Tylenol poisonings..oh dear..possibly not in the best taste..but all was forgiven when the band began to play and you began to sing!
Great concerts followed at the Berkeley Greek, the Keystones (Berkeley and Palo Alto, The Catalyst, etc..)
It would be an honor and a supreme pleasure to meet you and say thank you for all those great hours of music!

I’ve been a fan of Greg Kihn since the very first time I saw him at the Greek Theatre, back on August 15, 1980. I paid $12.50 for the privilege. Boz Scaggs was on the bill also. I went with my best friends and our favorite song of the show was ‘The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance’. Our father’s were all big John Wayne fans and as kids we watched that movie. We were so fired up you did a version of that song! A year later, as a prequel to my 21st Birthday, we saw you at the Concord Pavillion, headlining a bill that included Joan Jett. Over the years, I listened to you on KFOX and I’ve always enjoyed your honesty and your enthusiasm. It would be an honor to meet you, sit with your family and friends and enjoy you music live!! Win or lose, it’s always a pleasure listening to your timeless music! Thank you for this opportunity!

My boyfriend is your biggest fan. He would absolutely die if he got to meet you. I would love to be able to surprise him with a meet and greet. We were already planning to attend but this would be such a huge bonus; it would be a night we’d never forget.

  37. Rob89434 says:

I would like to meet Greg Kihn because who wouldn’t. I’m a big fan. He’s got to be the nicest guy in Rock and Roll. I was able to talk to him briefly after a concert while getting a picture and a cd. I was so impressed on how friendly he was to everyone, I grew up in the Bay Area and he’s a legend. I enjoy his stories about the backstage life. I no longer live in the Bay Area but I like him so much that I would come down from Reno just for the occasion. I tried to get someone to go with me to the concert, but since it was during the week I couldn’t. Thanks to the Internet I’m able to listen in the mornings on kfox.com.

I would love the opportunity to win anything from you Greg. I have been a fan of yours since the 80′s I think and have seen your shows at rutgers university or another Jersey local…I love your music and still have vinyl from back in the day. If I win the August 3rd show please donate the passes to someone in need. Thanks

  39. fuly4jc says:

Love your stuff man.Listen all the time on my home from work.Crazy stories!!!!!To hang with you would be a dream come true.

Greg, have been a fan for about 30 years now. You hold a special place for me.. my first date with my husband was to see you at the Marin County Fair 26 years ago. So I am appealing to the romantic in you and choose me and my husband.

  41. tracim83 says:

1983 has significance for me as well. It was the year I graduated HS. I had the priveledge of seeing the GKB perform at the Disneyland Senior Trip Spring 83. I think its kihnda cool the concert is on 8-3. So, why do i want to meet Greg Kihn? I think he is the most interesting voice in the music industry today. About 4 years ago I listened to his show that broadcasted via KXBX in Ukiah, Ca. I found that the song, the story, and the message that followed more than once, spoke to my soul. And I mean that in a non-creepy way. But really… this guy has a story on just about everyone. I figured this guy has got to be the coolest person and put hanging out with Greg Kihn on my bucket list; #11 to be exact. So, i’m pretty cool too even though I have no musical talent and my stories may not move you in quite the same way, I think I kihn kihnvince you to have the kihnviction to choose a 46 year old Nor-Cal grandma ( I can still pass for 40 – on a good day) who kihnsiders herself a kihndred spirit and we can have a kihnversation at the Kihncert. I hope this is kihnplete.
